The 23rd Annual Racer Classic Golf Tournament will be held Friday, June 3 at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Ky.
The tournament features a four-man scramble format with team prizes awarded for first and second place low gross, plus a blind draw for the top three places.
The Racer Classic has long been a favorite of Murray State fans and fans of golf in general.
“This is a great opportunity to come out, enjoy an afternoon of golf, and help raise funds for the Murray State athletic department,” Paul Bubb, Associate Athletic Director stated. “The tournament recognizes the serious golfer as well as the casual golfer with the split format. Moreover, everyone is a winner with the day we have planned, including the opportunity to meet our coaches and even challenge them and their golfing skills.”
The tournament features a $5,000 hole-in-one contest plus additional hole-in-one prizes for every par-3 hole. Other contests include longest drive, closest to the pin and most accurate drive.
This year the tournament has added a putting contest to the mix of fun, with the preliminaries taking place before the 1:00 p.m. shotgun start.
Lunch will be provided, starting at 11:30 a.m., with the event concluding with a social and awards presentation at 5:30 p.m.
Entry fees range from $95 for an individual to an all inclusive corporate or family package for $480, which includes a hole sponsor sign and eight team mulligans.
