Rob Cross Receives Contract Extension

Murray State University director of athletics Allen Ward announced the school has extended the contract women's basketball head coach Rob Cross.
Cross gets a three-year extension that takes him through the 2014-15 season with the Racers.
“Rob is a great ambassador for our program and the university,” Ward said. “He has a good nucleus of young players that will continue to get better and keep us competitive in the league. I'm pleased with the work he is doing to position the program for another championship run.”
"I'm very thankful for Dr. Dunn's and Mr. Ward's commitment to our program and staff,” Cross said. “Murray State is truly a special place and we are excited about the future. The dedication of the university to ensuring that our student-athletes have what they need to achieve success in the classroom and on the court make this a great place to work. I am extremely thankful to be able to work with the many great people at this university and in the community as we move forward. "
In his first three seasons as head coach for the Racers, Cross led the team to their first Ohio Valley Conference regular-season championship (2008-09) and an appearance in the WNIT (2008-09), which marked the first time in school history that the team earned back-to-back postseason appearances. The team has seen great success on the court, with the Racers longest home winning streak (21 games) and six all-conference honors.
