MSU Student-Athletes Honored by OVC for Academic Success

The Medal of Honor is given annually to student-athletes who achieve the highest grade point average, a 4.0 GPA.
The 2010-11 recipients of the honor for Murray State included: Paul Ritzheimer (baseball); Kayla Cunningham and Rachael Isom (women's basketball); Blake Booth (football); Delaney Howson (women's golf); Leslie Bridges, Chelsey Sullivan and Taylor Wilson (softball); Arthur Valle (men's tennis); Kristen Garcia (women's tennis); and Sara Hayden (volleyball).
Isom earned her third-straight OVC Medal of Honor, while this is the second-straight honor for Hayden.
The OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll award goes to student-athletes that have a 3.25 GPA or better and were eligible to compete for their teams during the season.
“I am proud to see so many of our student-athletes committed to both their athletic and academic careers,” said Athletics Director Allen Ward. “Every one of the 95 athletes that earned an academic honor from the OVC is an example of what we strive for at Murray State.”
