Harris Named adidas OVC Offensive Player of the Week

Murray State senior running back Mike Harris was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his effort against Mississippi Valley State, announced the league office Sunday.
Harris (Tulsa, Okla.) rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns as the Racers recorded a convincing 39-0 victory over Mississippi Valley State Saturday at Rice-Totten Stadium.
The workman-like effort came on 19 attempts. The preseason All-American has eclipsed the 100-yard mark in both games this season, and now has six 100-yard rushing games in his career.
Harris got the offense rolling in the opening quarter as he capped off the third drive with a 15-yard run. He finished the quarter with 34 yards on six carries. In the second quarter, Harris carried the ball four times for 22 yards. Harris found the endzone again in the third quarter as he capped an eight-play drive with a 13-yard touchdown.
Harris now ranks ninth on the Racers all-time list with six career 100-yard games. It also marks the second time in his career he has gone over 100-yards in back-to-back games.
