Final Results

The Murray State men's golf team started the 2011-12 season at the Wasioto Winds Fall Kickoff in Pineville, Ky., and came home with a 10^th place finish.

MSU carded rounds of 305-292-296=893 and placed just behind Tennessee Tech at 889.

Patrick Newcomb led MSU with a 16^th place finish with scores of 76-69-73=218, while Hunter York finished 25^th with rounds of 78-70-73=221. Freshman Wade Thompson fired rounds of 74-79=75=228 in his collegiate debut and finished 48^th. Dustin Gosser placed 54^th with scores of 77-74-78=229, while William Hunt was 66^th with scores of 78-81-75=234.

Northern Kentucky won the team title at 857, with UT Martin (861), Southern Illinois (863), Eastern Illinois (867), Bellarmine (870) and host Morhead State (873) making up the top-6 teams in the field of 12.

The next stop on the Racers' fall schedule is the UK Bluegrass Invitational (Sep. 17-18) at the University Club in Lexington, Ky.
