Burgess Earns Third-Straight OVC Newcomer of the Week Honor

Murray State women's basketball red-shirt sophomore Erica Burgess has earned her third-straight and fifth overall adidas Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week honor after her first two league games in a navy and gold uniform.
The Memphis, Tenn., native recorded career-highs of 23 points and eight made free throws in the win over Southeast Missouri (Dec. 31). She finished the week going a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity strip. She averaged 15.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists over the two games.
MSU will wrap-up a six-game road swing with its game at Austin Peay, Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Dunn Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
