Brockman Earns Trio of National Honors

Murray State quarterback Casey Brockman had as many touchdowns as incompletions in the victory over Austin Peay, and for his efforts, the senior was selected as the NCAA Offensive Player of the Week, co-Offensive Player of the Week by The Sports Network and College Football Performance Awards National Quarterback of the Week.
Brockman (Murray, Ky.) completed 17-straight passes to start the game on his way to finishing 38-for-43 for 455 yards and five touchdowns. In the process, he became MSU's all-time leader in career touchdown passes (55), while also become the OVC career leader in completions (793).
He got the Racers off to a hot start as he threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Walter Powell on the opening drive, and followed it up with a 38-yard touchdown pass to Duane Brady.
Brockman broke the tie with Michael Proctor for the MSU touchdown record with a 12-yard scoring strike to Ja-Vonta Trotter with just 21 seconds remaining in the firs half.
Brockman led the Racers on two more scoring drives in the fourth quarter as he hooked up with Dontel Watkins on an eight-yard touchdown on the first play of the quarter, and then came back a few minutes later to throw a 71-yard touchdown to Powell.
On the season, Brockman is 214-for-303 for 2,134 yards and 12 touchdowns. He leads the FCS in completions per game (35.7) and has thrown for over 300 yards in five-straight games. He holds the MSU record with 13 300-yard passing performances, and seven 400-yard performances.
He enters the Homecoming game against UT Martin needing 238 passing yards to pass Proctor and become the school's all-time leader in passing yards.
