Emme Named Pepsi Athlete of the Week

Murray State shooter Kelsey Emme has been named the Murray State Pepsi Athlete of the Week for her performance last weekend in the Racers' match with Jacksonville State and Ole Miss.
"We are extremely pleased when the hard work of our student-athletes is recognized. No one works harder than Kelsey," said Head Coach Alan Lollar.
Emme helped lead the Racers to a season-best aggregate score of 4651, tying Jacksonville State. JSU would go on to win the tiebreaker however. In the match, Emme shot a career-high 585 in smallbore and had the second-highest score for the Racers in air rifle with a score of 586 in the discipline.
"I am most happy for the way our team is coming together, that's what it's all about", said Emme.
Emme would go on to lead MSU in aggregate individual score with an 1171. Emme and the fifth-ranked Racers return to action this weekend as they will travel to Oxford, Miss., for the second time this year to face No. 13 Ole Miss. In October the Racers placed fourth out of 14 teams at the Ole Miss Invitational.
