Robinson & Sisk Earn Weekly OVC Women’s Basketball Honors

Senior Mariah Robinson and freshman Erika Sisk of the Murray State women's basketball team were named as the adidas® OVC Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively, for games played from Nov. 20-26, the league announced on Tuesday.
Robinson average 23 points and 10 rebounds a game over two wins for the Racers last week. She notched a season-high 31 points against Evansville last Tuesday and capped off her week by recording her second double-double of the season last night against Lipscomb.
The senior guard from Beaver Dam, Ky., shot 40 percent (8-for-20) from 3-point range on the week and 16-for-18 from the charity stripe for 88.9 percent.
In the win over Evansville, Robinson went 10-for-10 from the free throw line and chipped in five three pointers. Against Lipscomb, she scored 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
Sisk has had an outstanding start to her collegiate campaign and averaged 9.5 points and 3.5 rebounds a game last week. She shot 31.3 percent from the field and went 3-for-9 from behind the arch.
The freshman guard from Oxford, Miss also shot 75 percent from the free throw line and averaged two steals and an assist per game.
Sisk scored 13 against Evansville and six against Lipscomb and also pulled down a career-high five rebounds against Evansville.
This marks the first Player of the Week honor for a Racer since Robinson earned her only other award on Jan. 17, 2011. This also marks the first Freshman of the Week honor since junior Jessica Winfrey shared the honor with Tennessee State's Tayla Foster on Feb. 7, 2011.
Robinson, Sisk and the rest of the Racers will return to action on Thursdays when they host Ball State at the CFB Center at 7 p.m.
