Racer Football Preps For Saturday Scrimmage

The Murray State Football team had Saturday's scrimmage in mind when they took to the turf at Roy Stewart Stadium Friday afternoon as they get ready to wrap up their second full week of spring workouts.
The Racers went through a solid practice of about two hours that concentrated on position groups. The team had about an hour of 11-on-11 to finish the workout.
Friday's practice was the team's final prep for their 11 a.m. scrimmage Saturday.
Head Coach Chris Hatcher said he was excited to see the team in full pads in game situations that will also include officials.
"I'm not sure how many plays we'll run Saturday, we have a lot of spots that are solidified until the guys come in during the fall." he said. "Our guys want to play the game full speed and they'll get that chance Saturday. Tomorrow we'll put on the pads and get after each other. We'll pace ourselves to make sure we get good quality work."
Fans are invited to come out to watch the Racers scrimmage Saturday. The main part of the day is the scrimmage that will begin approximately at 11 a.m. at Stewart Stadium. The team will also concentrate on special teams play.
The Racers are ultimately heading to the annual Spring Game April 14 at 6 p.m.
