Murray State opens the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference schedule this weekend, traveling to Tennessee State for three games. The Racers take on the Tigers twice Saturday afternoon and once on Sunday, with games scheduled to begin both days at 1 p.m.
The Racers own a 3-1 all-time record against Tennessee State, including a pair of 19-0 and 16-0 wins against TSU at home last season. MSU has out-scored them 43-8 in four total meetings.
SCOUTING TENNESSEE STATE
Tennessee State starts conference action after completing a 2-3 weekend at the 2012 Lipton Invitational hosted by the University of Florida. The Tigers picked up a pair of wins over Campbell, winning 6-1 and 3-2 while suffering defeats to Gardner-Webb twice and Florida once. They enter the weekend 6-8 on the season, and their wins include an opening day defeat of SEC-member South Carolina.
Jordan Rehl leads the TSU offense, batting .342 through 14 games. Devin Amar is tops on the squad with eight RBI, and Tedra Alford has scored nine times. Shea Morris has taken over as the ace of the pitching staff with a team-best 2.55 ERA in compiling a 4-4 record on the season. She has struck out 54 batters in 49.1 innings.

Murray State kicks off the 2012 home schedule next weekend, hosting Jacksonville State in three OVC games March 16-17. The Racers home schedule includes six OVC series and 14 straight home games between April 14-29.
