Racers Close Out Home Schedule Against Southeast Missouri

Murray State softball wraps up its 2012 home schedule this weekend, hosting Southeast Missouri in the final games of the season at Racer Field. The Racers will thank seniors Megan Glosser, Chelsey Sullivan and Alaina Zloty before Sunday's game.
SCOUTING SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
The Redhawks come into the weekend having dropped a 7-6 midweek decision on the road at Southern Illinois. SEMO in 6-1 in its last seven OVC games, having swept Tennessee State at home this past weekend after taking all three on the road against Austin Peay the weekend prior. A 1-0 loss at Eastern Illinois was sandwiched in between.
Evan Sallis leads Southeast Missouri with a .354 batting average and is tops on the team with 34 runs scored. Renee Kertz has hit a team-best five home runs this seson and is first on the team with 39 RBI.
Alora Marble is the SEMO staff ace, leading the Redhawks with 31 appearances and 25 games started in 178.2 innings pitched. 13-12 on the season, she has a team-best 2.47 ERA. Shea Cothren is also likely to start in the circle this weekend, having drawn 18 starts on the season. She is 6-9 with a 4.10 ERA in 2012.
WEEKLY RECAP
The Racers kept their winning ways intact this past week, picking up a pair of wins each against Bethel and Samford. MSU has allowed no more than one run in each of its last five games, dropping its collective team earned run average to 2.43 on the season, good for second in the OVC.
MSU has received a number of outstanding individual performances through four games this week as three players are batting above .500, led by Casey Castile and her .778 average. She has driven in and scored five runs each this week, while Alexa Becker leads the squad with six RBI in four games.
CheyAnne Gaskey tossed back-to-back complete game shutouts against Bethel and Samford, dropping her ERA to a team-best 2.09 on the season, good for third in the OVC.
