Brockman Named to 2012 CFPA Quarterback Award Watch List

Murray State senior quarterback Casey Brockman was named to the 2012 College Football Performance Awards Quarterback Award Watch List.
The watch list is a rough guide, highlighting returning players with strong individual performances. All players are eligible for recognition at their respective positions; players are not preemptively eliminated from consideration for weekly, annual, or career awards.
Brockman (Murray, Ky.) enters his final season poised to become the school's all-time leader in passing attempts, completions, yards and touchdowns. Through his first three years, Brockman is 579-for-888 for 6,261 yards and 43 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 456 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Last season, Brockman set a single season record for attempts and completions when he went 316-for-477 for 3,276 yards and 25 touchdowns on his way to being a finalist for the Walter Payton Award. He was also named a Third-Team All-American by the Associated Press and The Sports Network.
Brockman made NCAA history against Tennessee State as he threw for 422 yards in the first half. He finished the game by throwing for 600 yards and seven touchdowns, becoming just the fifth player in FCS history to throw for 600 yards. He tossed at least two touchdowns in six games, including closing out the season by throwing for two touchdowns, rushing for one and catching one in the season finale against Southeast Missouri.
The Racers kick off the 2012 season Sept. 1 at Florida State.
