The Murray State men's basketball team has been paired with Auburn as their first game of the 2012 Charleston Classic presented by Foster Grant. (Nov. 15) at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. The game between the Racers and Tigers will be aired on ESPN3 at 7 p.m. CT.
MSU's second game (Nov. 16) is against the winner/loser of St. John's or host College of Charleston at 4:30 p.m. CT or 6:30 p.m. CT. on ESPN3. After an off day (Nov. 17), the Racers come back to TD Arena (Nov. 18) in one of three games that decide the finish for all the teams.
The other pair of first round games (Nov. 15) include Dayton against Colorado at 11:30 a.m. on ESPN3 and Baylor against Boston College on ESPNU at 2 p.m. CT
The Racers, who won the 2011 Great Alaska Shootout, will be trying to follow former Charleston Classic champions: Northwestern (2011), Georgetown (2010), Miami (2009) and Clemson (2008).
Murray State is coming off a 31-2 season in which the Racers won the Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament title. They received a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament and defeated Colorado State before losing to Marquette in a tight game for a trip to the Sweet 16. MSU Head Coach Steve Prohm goes into his second looking for big things out of the Racers and returning All-America selection Isaiah Canaan.
Auburn is led by third year coach Tony Barbee where his Tigers were 15-16 last season and finished 5-11 in the Southeastern Conference.
The game in Charleston will be the third meeting between Murray State and Auburn and the first since 2002. The Tigers lead the series 2-0 and also won the first meeting in 1996 in Birmingham.

ESPN3 has six exclusive games at Charleston with ESPNU airing five. The championship game will be shown (Nov. 18) at 7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2. All games will be available through WatchESPN, accessible online at WatchESPN.com and through smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider. The on-site games from the Charleston Classic will also air on ESPN3D.
