The Racers senior became the top front court player in the MVC
Murray State's Fred King has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District Second Team for the Central District as announced by the association from their home office in Kansas City.
Â
King, a senior from Mangrove Cay, Bahamas, played his senior season with the Racers in 2025-26, coming into the MSU program with first-year head coach Ryan Miller, each from Creighton over the three previous seasons.
Â
In his first season as the main post player, King was named Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Year and was a member of the All-Newcomer Team in The Valley. He also gained a spot on the All-Defensive Team in the MVC.
Â
Fred King led the MVC in rebounding with an average of 8.3 per game and had eight double-doubles on the season.
He's the first Racer to lead a league in rebounding since Ed Daniel led the Ohio Valley Conference with a 10.0rpg average in the 2012-13 season.
