Racer Cross Country Picked Fifth

The Racer women's cross country squad has been picked to finish 5^th in the Ohio Valley Conference in 2012 as voted on by the conference's coaches and announced by the conference office today. Murray State received 85 points in the poll, just behind Southeast Missouri's 89. Eastern Illinois is picked to win the title and received seven first-place votes. Eastern Kentucky was second in the poll and had three first-place votes. Belmont, who finished third in the Atlantic Sun last season received two first-place votes and is picked to finish third.

The Racers begin the season at the Memphis Twilight Classic on September 1 and will run in five regular season meets. The Racers have no home events in 2012. Murray State returns eight runners from last season and have eight incoming freshman.

The Murray State men were picked to finish 11^th on the men's side. Eastern Kentucky was picked first and received all but one first-place vote.
