Murray State freshman outside hitter Emily Schmahl has been named the Pepsi Athlete of the Week for her performance for the Racers over the weekend.

Schmahl led MSU in kills (31) and hitting percentage (.224) at the Hyatt Place Fort Wayne/IPFW Invitational this past weekend and was named to the all-tournament team. Although the Racers dropped all three matches in Fort Wayne, Ind., Schmahl was a bright spot for Murray State.

Schmahl and the Racers return to action this weekend at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites Highlander Invitational for three matches in Radford, Va. Murray State will face the Citadel on Friday and St. Francis (Pa.) and host-Radford on Saturday.
