Racers Take The Field For First Practice Friday Morning

Cloudy skies and a slight breeze were a big boost this morning as the Murray State football team took the field for their first practice of the 2012 season Friday morning inside Stewart Stadium.
“This is the best first practice we have had since I have been here,” said head coach Chris Hatcher. “Our goal is to get better an inch better every day, and I think if we continue to do that then we may have something special.”
The Racers hit the ground running this morning with a practice that was full of energy and enthusiasm. Despite being in just helmets, MSU went through their full practice routine.
The offense returns eight starters and got off to a fast start as they were able to gain some yards against the defense. The defense, which also returns eight starters, was able to enact some revenge as Qua Huzzie picked off a pass during skelly, and TJ Denson took an interception into the endzone late in the session.
The Racers return to the practice field Saturday morning at 9 a.m. All practices are open to the public.
