Racers Battle Weather in Thursday Session

Murray State took the field Thursday afternoon the same sunny skies as it has endured all camp long. As practice progressed, the weather changed and just over an hour into practice, lighting reached the Murray area and practice was called for the day.
“Despite the weather, we got a lot accomplished this afternoon,” said head coach Chris Hatcher. “The only thing we missed was work with special teams and a short scrimmage planned at the end.”
The offense used the momentum it gained from last night's practice to gain the slight edge during the team session. The running backs were able to find some creases and the quarterbacks found open receivers in the period that was designed for third-and-short situations.
The Racers took the field in the afternoon after conducting their first two-a-day session on Wednesday. MSU will hold two practices on Friday, before holding their first of two scrimmages Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Stewart Stadium.
