Berry Named adidas OVC Newcomer of the Week

Murray State junior running back Jaamal Berry was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week after his performance against Tennessee Tech, announced the league office Sunday. It is the second time in the last three weeks Berry has received this honor.
Berry (Miami, Fla.) had his first career 100-yard rushing game as a Racer as he rushed for 142 yards on just 13 carries. He had his third rushing touchdown of the season as he broke to the outside for a 25-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. He averaged 10.9 yards per attempt, including runs of 25 and 21 yards in becoming the first to rush for 100 yards for a Racer this season.
In three games, Berry has rushed 33 times for 223 yards and three touchdowns. He also has 11 catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.
