Racers Take 10th at the APSU Intercollegiate

RESULTSÂ
The Murray State University men's golf team competed in the third and final round of the F&M APSU Intercollegiate at the Links in Hopkinsville, Ky. The Racers ended the day in 10th place with rounds of 291-299-296=886.

Belmont won the tournament with scores of 278-277-293=848. Tying for second place were Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky after each scored a total of 852.

Preston French and Jordan Smith led the Racers with spots in 29th place, carding scores of 74-70-76=220 and 72-75-73=220 respectively. Jared Gosser had scores of 70-79-74=223 for 47th place while Duncan McCormick carded 75-77-73=225 to finish in 56th place. Rounding out the field for the Racers was Chasten Howard who shot rounds of 75-77-78=230 for 75th place.

In individual play, T.J. Ferry carded scores of 74-73-74=221 for 37th place. Matt Zakutney had scores of 72-75-76=223 to finish in 47th place with Brock Simmons who shot 77-71-75=223.

Other team scores include Tennessee Martin (861), Southern Illinois (864), Tennessee Tech (868), Lipscomb (878), Austin Peay (880), South Dakota (884), Western Kentucky (888), Eastern Illinois (890), Tennessee State (894) and Morehead State (896).

The Links at Novadell played to a par of 72 and 7,132 yards.

The Racers will enjoy a short break before traveling to the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club for the Red Wolves Fall Beach Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala. on Nov. 4, 2013. Â
