RESULTS

The Murray State men's golf team competed in the final round of the ASU Fall Beach Classic on Tuesday at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club in Gulf Shores, Ala. After 54 holes, the Racers fired rounds of 298-306-310=914 to finish 12th in the field of 13 teams.

West Florida was able to maintain their lead finishing the tournament with a score of 868. In a close race for second, Louisiana-Monroe had a two-stroke lead on Memphis (878) to finish the day in second with a score of 876.

Preston French led the Racers in 27^th place with scores of 74-74-77=225. Brock Simmons and Chasten Howard tied for 48^th place after carding scores of 71-83-78=232 and 78-76-78=232 respectively. Jordan Smith fired rounds of 77-79-77=233 for 53^rd place while Jared Gosser rounded out team play in 59^th place with scores of 76-77-84=237.

In individual play, Duncan McCormick ended the tournament in 69^th place after firing rounds of 77-81-86=244.

Other team scores include Louisiana (880), Arkansas State (883), Louisiana Tech (886), Arkansas-Little Rock (894), Houston Baptist (896), Stephen F. Austin St. (897), New Orleans (904), Nicholls (907) and North Dakota (974).

The ASU Fall Beach Classic closes out the fall season for the Racers until the Snowman Getaway ( Feb. 24-25) at Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Ariz.
