Racer Men's Golf Takes Eighth At FAU Spring Break Championship

The Murray State men's golf team came home with an eighth place finish at the FAU Spring Break Championship at the Fountains Country Club North Course in Boca Raton, Fla.
The Racers had scores of 296-291-299=886 in the 54-hole event to ahead of ninth place Connecticut at 888 and just behind Jacksonville State and Florida Atlantic who shared fifth place at 879. Central Florida won the event with a score of 866, ahead of runner-up Florida Gulf Coast and Hartford who each had an 873.
Patrick Newcomb led the Racers with an eighth place showing with scores of 74-67-74=215, while Jared Gosser placed
17th place in the field of 96 players after rounds of 72-73-74=219. Hunter York had a spot in 23rd place with rounds of 74-73-74=221. Tyler Brown was in 63rd place with scores of 77-78-77=232, while Preston French was in 66th place with scores of 76-80-77=233.
The Fountains North Course played to a par of 71 and 6,876.
The Racers return to action (April 15-16) at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate at Hermitage Golf Club in Nashville, Tenn.
