Racer Football Tackles Saturday Scrimmage

The Murray State Football team held a scrimmage Saturday at Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray, Ky.
The afternoon live action featured 70 plus plays as the MSU offense and defense slugged it out.
The Racer defense played well in the scrimmage and turned in two interceptions for touchdowns from Josh Manning and Anthony Hayes. The two defensive scoring plays covered 70 and 60 yards.
The MSU offense scored two touchdowns each coming on passes. CJ Bennett hit Kendarian Jennings on a 10-yard TD and Parks Frazier had a 5-yard scoring play to Greg Coble.
After the scrimmage, MSU Head Coach Chris Hatcher offered his grade of the play.
“We had good tempo running the plays today, but we've got to have somebody step up offensively as the leader of that group,” Hatcher said. “That's something we're lacking on that side of the ball.”
“Defensively, they looked good and flew to the ball and tackled well. They continue to get better and better each day.”
The Racers now head into the final week of spring drills with an eye on the annual Blue-Gold game next Saturday (April 20).
