MSU Men’s Golf Team Competes in Wasioto Winds Fall Kick Off

The Murray State men's golf team
The Racers finished third with scores of 288-296-304=888. UT Martin was the winner at 853 and Walters State CC was second at 884.
Jordan Smith had the best finish for the Racers with a seventh place finish with scores of 72-71-74=217. Close behind was Preston French with scores of 69-73-76=218, which earned him a spot in eighth place.
Other MSU scores included Chasten Howard who finished in 17th place with scores of 78-75-71=224, while Jared Gosser took 21st place with rounds of 74-73-78 and Matthew Zakutney rounded out the Racers with scores of 87-79-79=245. Duncan McCormick had scores of 73-76, around his second round which was disqualified.
The medalist was Walter State's Brad Hawkins who had rounds of 70-65-72-207.
Morehead finished in fourth place at 889 with Pikeville (904), Bellarmine (912) and Spalding (919) making up the rest of the field.
The Wasioto Winds Course played to a par of 72 and 7,000 yards with 40 competitors in the field.
The Racers' next event is the Cardinal Intercollegiate (Sep. 23-24) at the Cardinal Club Golf Course in Simpsonville, Ky.
