Racers Take Second At APSU Intercollegiate

The Murray State Racers came home with a second place finish and freshman Moa Folke finished fourth at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate at Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn.

The Racers had scores of 301-302=603 and finished behind winner Belmont who had scores of 301-295=596.

Folke, playing in her first season at MSU out of Tranas, Sweden, had her best finish at MSU of fourth place with scores of 73-74=147.

MSU's Jacklyn Van Meter placed seventh with rounds of 75-77=152 and Abbi Stamper placed ninth after carding scores of 77-76=153. Sophie Hillier was 13^th with scores of 76-79=155 and Sydney Trimble finished 16^th with scores of 81-75=156.

MSU's second squad rallied in the second round and placed fifth with scores of 323-317=640 as they were led by Minta Yin with an 11^th place finish with scores of 77-77=154. Gina Nuzzo placed 21^st with scores of 80-77=157, while Anna Moore placed 40^th with scores of 84-81=165. Leah Judd was 43^rd with rounds of 84-82=166 and Summer Simmons had scores of 82-86=168 to place 46^th.

The Clarksville Country Club course played to a par of 72 and 5,974 yards.

The Racers play at the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational (Oct. 20-22) hosted by Mississippi State.
