Rain Wins At Bearcat Classic

Results
The Murray State women's golf team was in the hunt for the championship of the Bearcat Classic at TPC River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio., but before they could finish, rain washed out the final round Tuesday in the event hosted by the University of Cincinnati.
When the rain took out rounds two and three, the final standings were determined by the first round scores. The Racers carded a 314 and finished in eighth place.

The Racers were led by the trio of Sophie Hillier, Abbi Stamper and Sydney Trimble at 6-over-par 78 to share of 22nd place in the field of 96 players. Jacklyn Van Meter finished 35th after an 80. Moa Folke had an 81 and was in 47th place, while Minta Yin had an 83 for a spot in 63rd place.

MSU was just behind seventh place Memphis (313) and sixth place UAB (312). Cincinnati won the event at 307, ahead of Morehead State (308) and Eastern Kentucky (309). Bowling Green (310) and Toledo (311) rounded out the top-5.

Murray State's Anna Moore played the event as an individual and finished 35th with an 80.

The course at TPC River's Bend played 6,186 yards and to a par of 72.
The next challenge for the Racers is the Austin Peay Intercollegiate (Oct. 13-14) in Clarksville, Tenn., at Clarksville Country Club.
