Cross Country Closes Out Season at Regionals

The Murray State men's and women's cross country team competed in the Southeast NCAA Regionals Friday at Louisville, Kentucky. Women ran a 6k, while the men ran a 10k. The women finished 28th out of 38 teams with 257 females competing. The men finished in 27th out of 33 teams with 231 males competing.
The women's team was led by Caroline Grogan (122nd) who finished in 22.28.6. Meagan Smith (145th) and Alicyn Hester (152nd) finished in 22.53.1 and 22.59.7, respectively. Kati Heil (23.23.0), Emma Gilmore (23.30.4) and Leah Krause (23.26.7) stayed close together to help the Racers. Murray State's score was rounded out by Abbie Oliver who finished in 24.23.7.
The men's team was led by Cole Cisneros (151st) who finished in 33:18.9. Gavin Galanes (33:20.6) and Lucas Prather (33:22.6) helped each other and kept close while finishing near each other. Mark Ventura crossed the finish line in 33:40.0. Evan Staviski closed out the Racers scores finishing in 34:01.7.Â
