The Murray State University men's golf team finished the first two rounds of the Grover Page Classic hosted by UT Martin this afternoon at the Jackson Country Club. The Racers currently sit in 10^th place in the field of 13 teams.

Lipscomb finished the second round in first place after firing rounds of 285-282=567 to finish three strokes ahead of OVC member Tennessee Tech who carded scores of 290-280=570. UTM was in third place with scores of 297-287=584.

Matt Zakutney led the Racers for the first time this season and was in a tie for 29^th place after carding rounds of 77-73=150. Jordan Smith had scores of 76-75=151 and had a spot in 35^th place. Preston French had scores of 74-78=152 for a spot in 39^th place, while Jared Gosser fired rounds of 77-81=158 and was in 60^thplace. Brock Simmons rounded out team play for the Racers with a spot in 73^rdplace after rounds of 81-85=166.

In individual play, Daniel Harper fired rounds of 76-85=161 and was in 65^thplace.

Other team scores include: Jackson (596), Northern Kentucky (597), John A. Logan (598), Southern Illinois (600), Union (601), Morehead (602), Trevecca Nazarene (614) and Tennessee State (624).

The field of 78 players is tackling the Jackson County Club that is playing to a par of 72 and 6,783 yards.

The final round of the Grover Page Classic begins Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
