WOMEN'S RESULTS I MEN'S RESULTSÂ
The Murray State men's and women's golf teams finished the second annual Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate this morning at the Sevierville Golf Club, hosted by Tennessee Tech.

After the final round, the Murray State women's team ended the tournament in fifth place after rounds of 315-318=633.
Â
Eastern Kentucky took home the top honor with a team score of 625 to finish four strokes over second place Evansville (629) while Indiana State and Marshall tied for third place with team scores of 631.

Senior Delaney Howson captured second place and a spot on the all-tournament team after firing a first rounds of 70-79=149. Sydney Trimble carded rounds of 80-82=162 for 24th place while Jacklyn Van Meter and Sophie Hillier tied for 30th place after rounds of 85-78=163 and 80-83=163 respectively. Rounding out team play for the Racers was Minta Yin with scores of 88-79=167 to improve to 43rd place.

In individual play, Abbi Stamper fired rounds of 77-81=158 for 15th place and Gina Nuzzo carded 86-84=170 to end the day in 52nd place.

Other team scores include: Belmont (641), Austin Peay (643), West Georgia (643), Tennessee Tech (654), Presbyterian (657), Northern Kentucky (665), Tennessee State (711) and Northern Kentucky Black (712).

The ladies played the par-70 Highlands Course which spans 6,372 yards. The course features four par-5 and six par-3 holes.

The women's golf team will be back in action at the Ocala Spring Collegiate Invitational hosted by Morehead State at the Juliette Golf Course in Ocala, Fla., March 23-25.

The Racer men finished the tournament with team scores of 306-303-305=914 for 10th place in the field of 13 teams. Leading the field for the men after three rounds was Tennessee with a team score of 853 for an impressive 11-under par finish. Eastern Kentucky carded a team score of 878 for second place while West Georgia had a score of 879 for third place.

Duncan McCormick was able to maintain his Racer lead with scores of 74-77-74=225 to end the tournament in 28th place. Preston French was able to move up the board in the third round after carding rounds of 79-74-73=227 while T.J. Ferry claimed 48th place after firing rounds of 74-77-79=230. Mattew Zakutney had scores of 79-76-79=234 for 60th place while Jordan Smith rounded out team play for Murray State with rounds of 81-75-79=235 for 63rd place.

Other team scores include: Tennessee Tech (891), Northern Kentucky (893), UT Martin (895), Longwood (898), Evansville (902), Detroit (905), Tennessee State (915) and Wright State (938).

The Racers will look to compete at the 2014 Spring Break Championship in Lake Worth, Fla (March 28-30) at the Florida Fountains Country Club.Â
