MSU Athletics Announces Staff Reorganization

Director of Athletics Allen Ward announced today an important staff reorganization for the Murray State University Department of Athletics. Effective July 1, 2014, Steve Harrell will assume the position of Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, Meagan Short will become the Assistant Athletic Director for Academics, and Brad Corbin will take the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.

"We're very fortunate at Murray State to have three of the brightest and up-and-coming professionals in the business", said Ward. Each of these individuals has made a tremendous impact on our program and has a very bright future in athletics administration."

	*Ward comments on Steve Harrell:* "Steve has done an outstanding job since the day he arrived at Murray State. He's excelled in his current role, but has the talents to do so much more. He's creative, trustworthy and has a work ethic second to none. He's ready to take on this important role in external affairs and I have no doubt our donors, corporate sponsors, and supporters will enjoy working with Steve. He'll do an exceptional job building relationships, embracing Murray, and growing revenue for the department. I look forward to working with Steve in his new role for the Racers."
	*Ward comments on Meagan Short:* "Meagan is one of those unsung heroes in our department. She's never out front in the spotlight, but makes a huge impact on our program and student-athletes. Her talent and expertise in academic affairs is as good as any I've seen. There's not a day that goes by that she doesn't positively impact the lives of our student-athletes and their progress towards a degree. Meagan's skill and dedication will allow her to transition into this role effortlessly."

I have no doubt that the department won't miss a beat as Brad takes the reigns in this key area. He's well prepared and has the perfect skill set to administer an effective compliance and education program for the department."
