Four Earn All-OVC Football Honors

Juniors KD Humphries, Roman Clay and Jesse Blackburn and senior DeQuinten Spraggins all earned postseason honors Tuesday, when they were named to the 2015 All-OVC second team. This is the first post-season conference honor for all four student-athletes and it marks the largest number of Racers to earn All-OVC honors since the 2011 season when seven were selected.
Humphries put together arguably the one of the best seasons under center of any Murray State quarterback in program history, setting new single-season marks for passing yards and attempts. The Montgomery, Alabama native was 330-for-552 for 3778 yards with 22 touchdowns and just seven interceptions and currently leads the nation in passing yards, passing yards per game and completions per game. He passed for at least 300 yards for in eight of 11 games with a career high of 491 against Tennessee Tech.
Clay had one of the better seasons for a MSU running back in recent history, tallying 916 yards on 189 carries. He scored 11 touchdowns on the year and rushed for 100 or more yards on five occasions. The Lancaster, Pennsylvania native averaged 4.9 yards per carry and also caught 27 passes for 184 yards.
Blackburn was a work horse for the Racers this season at tight end, racking up 612 yards on 48 catches with five touchdowns. The Gardendale, Alabama native caught at least five passes in eight of 11 games and averaged 12.8 yards per catch. The junior's best game of the season came against Tennessee State when he caught 10 passes for 162 yards and two scores, one of which was a career long 62 yards.
Spraggins led Murray State in tackles on the season with 90, including a team-high 50 solo which went down as the third most in the. The native of West Point, Mississippi also had four tackles-for-loss on the year for a total loss of 13 yards. Spraggins hauled in two picks for MSU in 2015 and broke up eight passes, including a career-high five against then-ranked Eastern Kentucky.
