Athletes Give Back in 10th Annual Food Drive

Murray State athletics hosted its 10th annual Needline Food Drive on Monday, the event is sponsored by the MSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Each Murray State team collected canned items as well as non-perishables to help those in need in the Murray area.
Some student-athletes solicited help from their classmates to donate items to the drive. This year, 5,124 items were collected for those that need them this holiday season.
The athletics staff and student-athletes will deliver the items collected and donated to Needline, who will distribute them to those in need.
Assistant Athletic Director Meagan Short, who helps oversee the drive, knows how important the evening is for the student-athletes. "The student-athletes enjoy the drive," said Short. "They feel that it is a small way that they can make a difference over the holidays."
