Racers Sweep Weekend - Win Sunday vs Lipscomb

The Murray State women's tennis team put a cap on a great weekend with a 5-2 win Sunday over the Lipscomb Bisons at the Kenlake Tennis Center in Aurora, Kentucky.
The Racers are 4-1 and have won four in a row since an opening loss at top-30 ranked Tennessee (Jan. 24).
After beating Lindsey Wilson and Alabama A&M Saturday in straight sets of each match, the Racers came back Sunday against their Atlantic Sun opponent and overcame losing the doubles point.
MSU cut loose in the singles matches and won 5-of-6 to claim a 5-2 final.
MSU's No. 1 single spot produced a 7-6, 6-2 win by Andrea Eskauriatza when she defeated Lipscomb's Deahna Welcher.
Eleonore Tchakarova and Megan Blue all won their matches in straight sets. No. 5 singles player Erin Patton won her match in three sets claiming the deciding set 6-3 over Hannah Gamage. MSU's Alena Vasileva won 6-3, 6-2.
MSU is back in action this week on Wednesday with a match against the Memphis Tigers at the Racquet Club of Memphis at 6 p.m.
The Racers are building toward their Ohio Valley Conference opener and the beginning of their effort for a back-to-back championship when they host Southeast Missouri on March 13. MSU is back at Kenlake (Feb. 14) to host Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois.
