Murray State women's tennis team took down the Eagles of Morehead State 6-1 Saturday at Purcell Courts. Morehead was undefeated in conference coming into the match today, while the Racers had one conference loss.

Doubles started off as a hard fought battle on all three courts. Eleonore Tchakarova and Verginie Tchakarova on court two, while Alena Vasileva and Megan Blue took the doubles 8-4 and clinched the doubles point for the Racers.

With a slightly different lineup the Racers were still able to get business done in singles. Vasileva quickly won 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 4 position, while E. Tchakarova took the point after winning 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 2 position. Andrea Eskauriatza had a hard fought battle in the No. 1 position against Andrea LeBlanc. Eskauriatza took advantage after the first set and clinched the Racers victory 7-5, 6-2.

The Racers return to action to face Tennessee State and Belmont on Fri. and Sat. in Nashville, Tennessee.Â
