Racers & Folke Have Good Showing At Ole Miss

The Murray State women's golf team brought home a good showing of 12^th place in the best field they'll compete against this season at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate at the Ole Miss Golf Course in Oxford, Miss.

Moa Folke, a Racer freshman from Sweden, showed that she can play at a high level too.

The Racers finished with scores of 296-304-301-901 which placed them 12^th in the field of 18 teams, ahead of Memphis (905), Harvard (907), Tulsa (912), Mercer (928) Southern Miss (931) and Alabama State (951).

Folke carded scores of 73-72-73=218 to place 11^th in the field of 96 players.

Other MSU players included Abbi Stamper with rounds of 73-77-78=227 and a spot in 43^rd place. Sydney Trimble was 60^th with scores of 75-77-77=229. Jacklyn Van Meter had scores of 78-78-74=230 for a spot in 63^rd place, while Sophie Hillier placed 75^th with scores of 76-81-77=234.

Texas A&M was the winner with a total score of 858. The rest of the top-5 included: Kent State (861), Tennessee (869), Furman (875) and Fresno State (877).

Josee Doyon of Kent State was the medalist with scores of 69-71=68=208.

The Ole Miss course played to a par of 72 and 6,210 yards.

The Racers now look forward to playing at home this week Friday and Saturday when they host the Murray State Invitational at Miller Memorial Golf Course.
