Stewart Announces 2015 Football Schedule

Five home games, two FBS opponents and a Thursday night opener highlight the 2015 Murray State football schedule, as announced by head coach Mitch Stewart on Thursday.
"We are extremely excited about this season and I think this schedule will give us a great opportunity to be where we want to be at the end of the year," said Stewart. "While our first three games are against out-of-division opponents, I believe they will give us a tremendous opportunity to get our team where it needs to be on September 26 for the OVC opener at home against Tennessee Tech."
The Racers will officially kick-off their 2015 slate on Thursday, September 3 when they host Kentucky Wesleyan under the lights at Stewart Stadium for Senior Night. Following the opener, the Racers will hit the road for two weeks for a pair of games at FBS opponents, Northern Illinois on September 12 and Western Michigan on September 19.
On September 26, the Racers open OVC play at home for Family Weekend against Tennessee Tech. Other home games for Murray State in 2015 include Homecoming on October 10 against Austin Peay, a Halloween afternoon showdown with Eastern Illinois and the Stewart Stadium season finale on November 14 against Eastern Kentucky.
Rounding out the schedule for MSU is an October 3 trip to Southeast Missouri, a visit to UT Martin on October 24 and showdown with Tennessee State November 7 in Nashville. The Racers will close the book of the 2015 regular season November 21 when they travel south to take on defending OVC champions Jacksonville State.
