The Murray State Racers claimed victory at their own MSU Invitational at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Kentucky on Tuesday.

The Racers' scores of 303-300=603 was good for an 11-shot win over the Southern Illinois Salukis who carded team scores of 306-308=614. The win for the Racers is their first in the event since 2013 and they've won their home fall event four times in the seven times it has been played.

Murray State placed three players on the all-tournament team led by Sydney Trimble who placed second with scores of 73-76=149. Sophie Hillier and Abbi Stamper shared fourth place at 150. Hiller had scores of 77-73 and Stamper carded rounds of 76-74. Moa Folke placed ninth after rounds of 78-77=155 and Anna Moore scored 77-84=161 and finished 26^th place.

The Racers had four players in the field of 74 as individuals. Nadine Innes placed 12^th with scores of 78-78=156 and Jacklyn Van Meter finished in 19^th place with rounds of 77-81=158. Jane Watts had scores of 80-81=161 and placed 26^th. Leah Rose Judd placed 66^th with scores of 91-86=177.

After the Racers at 603 and SIU at 614, Tennessee Tech placed third with a score of 623, while Belmont was fourth at 630. Austin Peay was in fifth place with a score of 642, while Lipscomb placed sixth at 647. The rest of the field was made up by Cumberlands (648), SIUE (650), IPFW (665), Indiana State and Eastern Illinois (670) and Tennessee State (692).

Miller Memorial played to a par of 72 and a distance of 6,017 yards.

The Racers are now off and running with their fall season. Their next event is the Chris Banister Classic on Sep. 28-29, at Silver Lakes Golf Club in Glencoe, Alabama.
