SAAC Food Drive Begins Saturday With Ticket Offer

For the 11th consecutive year, the Murray State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will sponsor a canned food drive with all proceeds benefitting Murray Calloway County Need Line.
The event will kick-off Saturday, October 15 with a special ticket offer for the home football game against UT Martin. Any fan that brings at least five canned goods will be able buy one ticket and get an additional ticket at no cost, as a thank you for their donation. The same offer will also be available for the men's basketball exhibition game against Berry on November 3. Please note that these special ticket offers are available only on the day of the specified game.
For those not able to make either game, food items can also be brought directly to the MSU Department of Athletics offices located on the second level of Roy Stewart Stadium. Any non-perishable food or household items (i.e. soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper, etc.) will be also be accepted, while any monetary donations received will be used to purchase eggs.
The drive will run until Friday, November 18 when all food, household items and monetary donations will be delivered to Need Line, located at 509 North 8th Street in Murray. Last year, over 5,000 items were donated by the Racer athletic department to help those in need in advance of the holiday season.
