Women's Basketball to Play Nationally Televised Game
10/20/2016 11:03:00 AM | Women's Basketball
The Murray State women's basketball team will be playing on national television this season when the Racers travel to face SIU Edwardsville January 15, as part of the American Sports Network's (ASN) eight-game OVC basketball schedule in 2016-17.
The OVC announced the eight-game slate Thursday morning. The schedule also includes seven men's contests. ASN is an initiative of the Sinclair Networks Group, LLC, owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., which owns and operates programs and provides sales service to 164 television stations in 79 markets, reaching approximately 43 percent of US television households. It includes FOX, ABC, CBS, MyTV, CW, NBC, Univision and Azteca affiliates.
The Racers and Cougars are set to tip at noon on that Sunday from the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Ill. Last season, the two squads split a pair of one-possession games with each team winning on the other's home court. The Racers' victory at SIUE was a part of a four-game winning streak that helped propel the Racers into the OVC Tournament.
