Enthusiasm Explodes At Racer Mania

Racer fans came out in large numbers to see the 2016-17 Murray State men's and women's basketball teams Thursday night inside the CFSB Center at Racer Mania. The Murray Bank was the presenter of the event that is the official start to the MSU hoops season.
The fans were treated to introductions of the players, a combined dance number, scrimmage from both squads, a 3-point contest and the ever-popular dunk contest.
At the end of the night's festivities, fans got their hands on the new schedule posters and lots of signatures from both teams. There were plenty of photo opportunities for everyone.
The Racer men will be playing their 92nd season of collegiate basketball when they host Illinois State (Nov. 11) on opening night at the CFSB Center. When they get to a New Year's Eve game (Dec. 31) at home against Tennessee State, the Racers will be playing in their 69th season in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Racer women begin their 50th season when they host Eureka College (Nov. 11) and their 39th season in the OVC is also at home against TSU on New Year's Eve.
