The Murray State Racers women's soccer team returned home Wednesday and pushed their Ohio Valley Conference unbeaten streak to 15 straight with a 1-0 victory over the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech at Cutchin Field in Murray, Kentucky.

The Racers (4-4-2, 3-0-1 OVC) have not lost a regular season conference game since Oct. 26, 2014 at home to Belmont 2-0.

Ali Critcher was the right Racer, in the right spot, at the right time when the ball settled at her feet a few feet in front of the Tech net in the 53^rd minute. The senior knocked home her first MSU goal off of a kick that was taken by Nyomi Devine from the right side 25 yards out before it bounced around off of several player. Devine, the Racers' junior defensive quarterback, scored her first career assist at MSU.

Murray State claimed a defensive struggle against the Golden Eagles who fell to 6-5-2 and 2-1-1 in the OVC.

Net minder Alex Steigerwald only faced four shots on goal off of seven total shots by the Golden Eagles as the MSU defense kept the heat off their keeper on many Tech rushes. Tech was limited to four shots on goal and all of them were gobbled up by Steigerwald.

The Racers managed 10 shots and also had four on goal.

The Racers continue their weekend at home to Sunday (Oct. 9) when they host the Eastern Kentucky Colonels at 2 p.m. This game will be available for viewing on OVCDigitalNetwork.com.

Game Notes
The Racers extended their series lead over the Golden Eagles to 11-7-1 and have won the last four.

Murray State is 7-3-2 all-time against EKU and has won their last two meetings with the colonels.

EKU has a Friday game at Austin Peay before visiting Murray State.
