Racers Zoom At NCAA Cross Country Regional
11/11/2016 12:19:00 PM | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
The Murray State men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up the 2016 season at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Earlysville, Virginia.
The day proved to be a historic day for the Racer women as they tied the best finish in program history at an NCAA event with a spot in 20th place and the men's team had their best NCAA experience in a decade with a finish of 24th place.
"I'm very happy with how both of our teams raced today," said Murray State coach Jenny Swieton. "They really put themselves out there and this season, they have gotten better at learning how to get the most out of themselves each race regardless of conditions or circumstances. We have grown a lot as a team and I am really excited to see what the future holds. As a whole we are a young team and have a lot to look forward to. Both teams have learned how much can be gained from working together during races and that has been fun to watch. The season wasn't perfect, but we made a lot of progress and that is all we can ask for."
