Â
Murray State women's tennis coach Jorge Caetano announced the signing of four student-athletes for 2017. Two join the team to compete in the spring and two join the team in the fall of 2017.
Â
The Racers welcome twin sisters Anja and Sara Loncarevic who hail from Valence, France. They'll be freshmen for the Racers in the spring of 2017.
Â
"I'm very happy to have Sara and Anja join us," Coach Caetano said. "They're both very talented and determined and will fit in perfectly on our team. They've played at a high level in France and they'll bring a positive impact to our lineup. The fact that they are sisters and have played together their whole lives will be very helpful from the start and I can't wait to watch them compete for the Racers."
Â
Aarja Chakraborty of Gautam Budh Nagar, India, and Nastya Sharapova of Astana, Kazakhstan, will join the Racers in the fall of 2017 as freshmen.
Â
"I am very excited with the signing of these two young ladies," Caetano said. "They're both experienced in upper-level international competition on the ITF juniors circuit and they've been successful against some of the best players in the world, even though they're young for juniors. Aarja and Nastya will bring a lot of experience to our team."
Â
Sharapova is currently ranked 705th in the International Tennis Federation junior rankings, while Chakraborty is ranked 775th.
