Humphries Named to CFPA Midseason Watch List

Senior quarterback KD Humphries has been named to the College Football Performance Awards FCS National Performer of the Year Watch List, the organization announced Wednesday.
The Montgomery, Alabama native has played a pivotal role in Murray State's recent turnaround, improving from 1-4 to 4-5 over the course of a little more than a month. Humphries is currently 219-for-322 on the year with 2600 yards, 20 touchdowns and just eight interceptions. He has had five games in which he passed for 300-plus yards and has completed five touchdown passes in a single game on two separate occasions.
This season Humphries has proven to once again be one of the most competent passers in the FCS, as he is currently fifth in the nation in completions at 27.4, 11th in completion percentage at 66.0 percent and 20th in passing efficiency at 146.8. His 325.0 yards per game this season ranks him fourth amongst FCS quarterbacks, while his 20 touchdowns is the 13th highest total in the nation.
The is the second watch list that Humphries has been named to this season, as he began the year on the watch list for the Walter Payton Award. He was just of one of three OVC players to appear on the CFPA list Wednesday, along with Eli Jenkins of Jacksonville State and Troy Cook of UT Martin.
