James and Gulledge Earn Player of the Week Honors

Ke'Shunan James was named the ADIDAS OVC Co-Women's Basketball Player of the Week and Abria Gulledge took home Freshman of the Week honors for their performances last week in Murray State's wins against SIU Edwardsville and Southeast Missouri.
James averaged 19 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and three steals per game over the week for the Racers. James led MSU in scoring in both contests, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the big road win at SIUE. It was James' fourth double-double of the year. She followed that up with 18 points, five steals and five assists in the win over SEMO.
It is James' third OVC Player of the Week honor this season (Nov. 17 and Jan. 5) and the first time that she's been named co-player. James shared this week's award with Austin Peay's Tiasha Gray. James was also named College Sports Madness' OVC Player of the Week as well. It is the second time James has received the honor this season from College Sports Madness.
Gulledge continued her strong play of late in the two games last week as she averaged 13 points, three assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point range. Gulledge had 12 points against SIUE and added 14 on 5-for-9 shooting and 3-of-6 from 3-point range in the victory over SEMO. She also had a pair of steals in the win and hit a 30-foot, buzzer-beating 3-pointer to end the first half.
Gullledge, James and the rest of the Racers look to continue their hot streak Wednesday as they travel to face Eastern Illinois in a 6 p.m. contest.
