2016-17 Cheer Tryout Date Set - Aug 5-6 - Murray State University Athletics

Murray State Athletics has announced cheerleading tryouts for the 2016-17 school year. Tryouts are open to current male and female Murray State University students and those incoming or transfer MSU students that have applied for admission and been accepted for the 2016-17 academic year.

The co-ed tryout will be conducted on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Racer Arena from 3-6 p.m. Prior to the tryout, each participant is required to attend the cheer clinic. The clinic is scheduled for Friday, August 5th and continues through Saturday, August 6th. All applicants must register online prior to Friday by paying a $25 registration fee. Friday, August 5, 2016 Time: 6:00-9:00pm Location: Racer Arena (Volleyball Gym)

6:00-6:30pm (CST) Check-in/registration/stretch/warm-up
6:30-9:00pm Open-Gym Clinic for Stunts, Tumbling, Jumps, etc.

Saturday, August 6, 2016 Time: 9:00-6:00pm Location: Racer Arena (Volleyball Gym)

9:00-9:30pm (CST) Check-in/registration/stretch/warm-up
9:30am-12:30pm Cheer Clinic (Sideline Chants, MSU Fight Song, Stunts, Tumbling, Jumps, etc.)
12:30-1:30pm Lunch Break
1:30-2:30pm Review and Practice All Tryout Material
2:30-3:00pm Mini Break to Freshen up or Change clothes if needed.
3:00-6:00pm CHEERLEADER TRYOUTS
6:00-6:30pm Judges tally scores and make final decision
6:30-6:45pm New MSU Cheer Team Posted
6:45-7:30pm MANDATORY Meeting with new Cheer Team

All participants must show proof of primary health insurance that will cover payment due to injuries or illness at registration.

*SPECTATORS are welcome to attend MSU cheer tryouts this year (3:00-6:00pm) in Racer Arena. There will be a $5 charge for any spectator (Parents, Grandparents, Family Members, Friends, etc.). Small children ages 4 & under are FREE! No spectator will be allowed in Racer Arena before 2:30pm and tryouts will begin promptly at 3:00pm! Spectators will not be allowed to watch the clinics…ONLY TRYOUTS!!

Transportation and housing will be the responsibility of each participant.
