Mark Ventura Sets New PR at Pre Nationals In Louisville

The Murray State Racers men's cross country squad competed in the Pre Nationals hosted by Louisville University at Tom Sawyer National Park in Louisville, Ky. this Saturday.
The men finished 24th overall as a team in the black 8k race. Senior Mark Ventura set a personal record, with a final time of 25:17.6, placing 53rd . Gavin Galanes ran the next highest time for the Racers, finishing 138th with a time of 26:19.4.
"We had a hard week of training this week leading into the meet with a faster track session on Tuesday. Overall the men are adapting well to the training and did a good job partnering up with each other throughout race. Mark Ventura had another great performance, hitting his second consecutive lifetime PR of 25:17 and we are eager to see some additional PR's come the conference championship," said head coach Adam Kiesler
The Ohio Valley Conference Championship meet is next for both squads, where they'll race in Charleston, Ill. On Saturday, October 28.
