MSU Tabbed Fifth, James Player of the Year in Media Poll

Ke'Shunan James was picked as the OVC's Preseason Player of the Year and Murray State was picked to finish fifth in the OVC Preseason Women's Basketball Media Poll, announced Friday by the league office.
The Racers received a total of 96 points in the 13-member poll. Belmont, who received 12 first-place votes, were picked as the preseason favorite by select league media members while UT Martin was tabbed second and received the other first-place votes. Morehead State and SIU Edwardsville were selected third and fourth, respectively.
James led the league in scoring last season, averaging 21.6 points per game during conference play and was 17thnationally in scoring overall at 20.5 points per contest, while her 594 points were the fifth-highest single-season mark in program history. James also ranked fifth in the OVC with 8.3 rebounds per game and was ninth in assists at 3.8 per. Her 48.1 percent shooting from the floor was the 10th-best mark in the league.
The OVC's coaches and SID preseason poll will be announced Tuesday morning at OVC Media Day in Evansville, Ind.
