Homecoming Memories Made Again In 2017 At Murray State

Murray State University had a big weekend during homecoming 2017 when alumni and friends returned once again to experience the finest place we know.

Racer Athletics also had a memorable time with several events, including a celebration of the last Murray State football championship team. The 2002 team had a dinner Friday night and walked in the parade Saturday morning. The team was also part of the coin toss and was recognized at halftime. Joe Pannunzio, the Racers head coach in 2002, was with his team that numbered some 50 former players that made the trip back home.

Other athletics related events included MSU baseball and softball hosting former players. Coach Johnny Reagan was also honored by MSU Baseball. Coach Reagan is loved by his former players after he coached the team from 1958-1993.

Tent City was again the best place to be pregame inside the walls at Stewart Stadium prior to the football game as the Racers hosted Eastern Kentucky.

The Racers' football team hits the road this week for a 1 p.m. Saturday at Jacksonville State. Murray State's last home game is against Tennessee Tech on Nov. 11.
